Interracial Cupid does not print a launch year on the pages that ought to have one. The homepage says the site is backed by Cupid Media, and that you can review your matches for free. It also lists “advanced messaging features” as a separate line. The About page calls it an interracial dating site with search and messaging tools, claims a large database, and gives no count. This page does not invent one.
2004 or 2002
AskMen’s review, dated September 15, 2015, says Australian-based Cupid Media was founded in 1999 and that Interracial Cupid was founded in 2004. Free users, that review said, could browse profiles and use search and match. A paid membership was required to message other members or to open messages sent to you. The paid tiers it named were Gold and Platinum.
DatingScout says something else about the year. Its FAQ states that InterracialCupid “was launched in 2002,” and that the Australian company Cupid Media Pty Ltd owns and operates it. The same FAQ says anyone from any race can join. The page title is stamped September 2026. The price table on it says costs were last updated August 20, 2026. The launch sentence does not say where 2002 came from.
Those years are not the same. If you need a founding date in a citation, name the review you are quoting and mention the other one. The About page will not settle it.
What a free account is for
DatingScout’s later account of the paywall is not AskMen’s. It says free members can send messages only to premium members, and that you cannot read messages for free. The summary line says pricing starts at $7.50 a week. The table under that line prices a 12-month Gold plan at $7.50 a month. Those two lines cannot both be the price, so this page does not pick one. The About page still has no rate card.
If the reason you are looking is messaging, read the paywall on the signup screen. A 2015 review is not a receipt. A review page that disagrees with its own table is not one either. Browsing is the part the homepage still offers without a dollar sign next to it.
Not the BWWM shelf
Interracial dating is wider than BWWM, which means a Black woman and a White man. Nothing on the homepage or the About page limits the site to that couple. DatingScout’s “any race” line points the same direction.
This page does not score Interracial Cupid against other products, including any app aimed at one pairing. The dating apps comparison is a separate article. Read it as a comparison of those products, not as a winner’s slot for this site.
